Charlie Gammell
Charlie’s career has spanned development, diplomacy, academia, consultancy and cultural heritage. He is the author of The Pearl of Khorasan, a study of the city of Herat. A renowned expert on Iran and Afghanistan, Charlie is convinced that the study of culture, history and art are essential for cohesive communities and as tools of development and diplomacy; Charlie strives to live by this.
Ben Timberlake
Ben’s career has covered archaeology, military, and journalism. He has spent a large part of his life in the Middle East. He is the author of High Risk: A True Story of the SAS, Drugs, and Other Bad Behaviour. Ben studied prehistoric art and the origins of human creativity. Ben believes that our projects build bridges between our ancestors’ achievements and our aspirations for tomorrow.
